135-86 B.C，诗人-司马迁记录了黄帝(2,500 - 2,400 B.C)特意到山东的泰山筑了一座祭坛敬拜上帝。
司马迁也记录了汉代一个历史家的记录。

“上帝者，天之别名也。神无二主” 史记 （卷8，封禅书第六）
意思：上帝就是天的另外一个名字，只有独一真神，没有两个主。

大清时代的歌谣，朗诵上帝乃是真主也，如下：

于昔洪荒之初兮，混蒙；
五行未运兮，两曜未明；
其中挺立兮，有无容声；
神皇出御兮，始判濁清；
立天立地兮，群物生生。

解释：
在创造之初，一切都是混沌黑暗，
五颗行星尚未运转，两个光击也未照亮，
在这当中，既无声响也无形体，
惟有主权的神，出来判断清浊之分，
你立了天、立了地、立了人，使天地万物生生入席。
