A Chat - A Learned - A Divine Discipleship - December 4, 2008

I've been told that I must write down this message, I don't know why, maybe it's just to remind myself when I read this post in the future, don't know, but I just obey the One who taught me and just post it down right now.
I got this when I went to gym yesterday and suddenly out of no where my mind keep on thinking about the street evangelism in the past days, why we all like doing nothing, yes, we do gain experience, but we can do more than just gaining experience. With the spirit of God, who knows? And I found out that we even attended a class about how to spread the gospel and reaching out to the others. Yes, it is good to attend the class, but that is just the formula to spread the gospel, what I could say is, it didn't work at all, yes, at all.
I got a title divinely when I was on the running machine.

The title is: Learn Evangelistic through the book of Acts.

Let me briefly explain what I know about the beginning of the book of Acts. Book of Acts is the book which Jesus Christ Himself back to heaven (Acts 1:9). Before He went back to heaven, the last word He said to His disciples, which is a scripture that we all know very well and familiar with,

[But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."]

Do you ever realize that after Jesus said that word, there is no chance for His disciples to ask how the Holy Spirit is gonna fill upon them and what will happen when the Holy Spirit fill upon them. There is no chance for them to how they gonna witness God's work. I believe there is a lot of question in the disciples on that days, I don't know, but if I was there, seriously I won't understood. But praise God, in chapter 2, the Holy Spirit fill upon the people on the Pentecost day, and everyone speak in tongue.(Nah, not gonna explain about this.)

And then what to do with we gonna spread the gospel and testify God you might say, yes, there is related with verse 8 of chapter 1. We MUST fill with the Holy Spirit everyday and single hour DAILY and let His work done in us and there will be testimony for God, then there goes testifying for God!

Conclude of the first criteria,
Fill with the Holy Spirit in our live and let the Holy Ghost done His work on us, and let us testify the result of His work.

Secondly, the power from Holy Spirit. (So as in verse 8) What kind of power will we receive from the Holy Ghost? Of course it included spiritual gifts and spiritual position. But I just saying 1 result of the power here is, the power of spreading the gospel as known as evangelism. When we have the first criteria in us, filled with the Spirit of God, we will have the power at the same time as well, to testify for God!
See, it is related! When we receive the power and we testify WITH the power, the scenario in Acts chapter 2:41 will happen.(Open up the bible and read it yourself, not gonna post, as you open the bible by yourself, you will remember it.)

Conclude for the second criteria,
Receive the power from God as we filled with the Holy Spirit and testify WITH the power.

Thirdly, what kind of attitude must we carry when we evangelistic(spreading the gospel) to the others, it's the attitude of GIVING.
Acts chapter 3 verse 6 :[Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."]
I don't meaning that when you walking on the street, and you saw someone who is crippled, you say the same word to that person. Yes if the Holy Spirit told you so. But what Peter was doing here? He is filled with the Holy Spirit, he has the power came from Holy Spirit, so what he did? He saw a crippled beggar and ask him to stare at him. And this, is as known as APPROACHING. Then the scenario of verse 6 happens.

Conclude of the third criteria,
Approach and give.

The forth, which is what we all need, boldness.
In the scenario of chapter 4, Peter and John face against the Sanhedrin. They were forced not to spread the gospel and the people threaten Peter and John, however, WITH the glory and grace of God, both of them did not being punished because there is no way to punish them.

After that, Peter and John beg for boldness from Jesus Christ.
Acts 4:29
[Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.]

I was thinking, even Jesus' disciples, whom follow Jesus and live with Jesus, crying out for boldness. We shall cry out for boldness either.

Conclude of forth criteria,
HUMBLE yourself before God and CRY out for BOLDNESS from God.

Lastly, which we are always been told but yet to do so, A UNITY OF PRAYERS.
Acts chapter 2:42;46-47 (open up .the love letter from God and read it so that you can be reminded.)
Here says that the disciples are having fellowship together, having the PRAYER time TOGETHER, always MEET TOGETHER and PRAISE GOD TOGETHER. This is what we seriously lack of! I believe when I try to say this out, there will be a lot of common response which is, "This is life,","Sometimes is not necessary,","We can do it although lack of these,","Don't worry, have faith on God."
That is why I post in on my blog

Amen

I do not dare to say that what I'm writing here is 100% acceptable and correct, but at least I share what I learned and is biblical.

Hit me back with comments, Amen.
